Day 2: Meinong - Hot spring.

        Cycle 30km / 18 miles (gradual incline)

After breakfast, we'll head out of Tainan city and make our way to the Hakka region of Meinong. The Hakka people have a deep connection to the land, with their lives centered around harvests, traditions, and exceptional food.

Following lunch, we'll embark on a scenic bike ride to the hot spring area, traveling through a picturesque valley alongside a river. Along the way, we'll pass by seasonal sunflower fields and beautifully ornate Buddhist and Daoist temples, where you're welcome to stop and explore. The well-maintained roads offer stunning views of the surrounding green mountains.

Tonight, we'll stay at a hot spring hotel, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind with a soothing evening soak and simply relax.

Day 3: hot spring Mountain Range + Southern Temple – Baisha Beach

        Cycle: 23km / 14 miles (mostly downhill) + 18km / 11 miles (flat)

After breakfast we’ll cycle from the hotel, tracing the winding valley, towards the base of the southern mountain range.

Following lunch we’ll drive to the tropical southern peninsula where we’ll visit South Taiwan’s luckiest temple and have a cruisy afternoon ride alongside the blue Pacific, finishing at the beautiful Baisha beach, which was used as a film location for Life Of Pi.

The south of Taiwan is often compared to Hawaii; with beautiful beaches and warm water, and no wonder as it’s almost on the same latitude.

Accommodation is just down the road at South Bay with Nanwan Beach less than 100m away across the road. You can enjoy sunset on the golden sands, or from the rooftop terrace.

Day 4: Southern range downhill - or Rest Day, Nanwan Beach + South Coast

        Cycle: 21 km / 13 miles. (downhill+flat)

After you’ve had breakfast (and maybe a stroll and swim at the beach?), we’ll head to a traditional morning market and/or a national park, and then drive to the peak of the SW mountain range - thus avoiding cycling along some roads frequented by heavy trucks.

From here, it’s a downhill (with some flat sections) through tropical mountains on quiet, well-sealed roads, where we’ll likely see monkeys, then a long stretch alongside the beautiful blue Pacific.

In the afternoon, there are a host of optional extra activities available. Including surf lessons for the kids (condition dependent) go-carts, as well as visits to numerous safe swimming beaches, or a hot & cold spring.

Of course, if you'd rather, you’re also welcome to simply have a rest day and stroll Nanwan beach across the road, rent an umbrella and chairs and have swims, naps and build sandcastles all day!

        Day 5: Southern Peninsula

        Cycle: 23km / 14 miles (undulating)

An absolutely magic ride for our last day around the southern Hengchun peninsula. Starting from our accommodation we’ll cycle past numerous bays and beautiful sandy beaches, and on through the grasslands - which is prime Formosan Sika deer habitat – down to the ocean again and finishing at the Gangkou suspension bridge.

After this we’ll head back to the hotel where you can shower and finish packing.

We’ll then take you to Kaohsiung’s International Airport (KHH) or Tainan High Speed Rail station in time for your departure flight or train.
